covid-19 statement of policies & protocols

Revised: 15 May 2022

The PTN’s Board of Directors will continuously monitor the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as we move forward with our plans for all in-person events. This will include our plans to host the International Preservation Trades Workshop (IPTW) in St. Clairsville, Ohio. While our efforts are made with the goal of hosting in-person events we must acknowledge that the global nature of this pandemic will invariably impact our ability to be present and on location, and will require consideration of the good health and safety of all we would come in contact with.

As of the writing of this statement, our event policy and protocols for the upcoming 2022 IPTW are listed below.

  • All who attend IPTW this year are recommended to be fully vaccinated and boosted, or will be by the time the event begins. Vaccinations have proven to be effective at reducing the severity of illness, potential spread, and increases global herd immunity goals.

  • Masks are encouraged for attendees when indoors and not actively demonstrating, or if one is unable to maintain a six foot distance.

  • PTN will follow the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, which references the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as we continue to monitor any changes to current recommendations for in person events. International travelers may need to review policies in place at all countries they may pass through, as mandates can vary widely and override any US to local procedures. Domestic attendees are encouraged to review their travel plans in advance as well

  • All attendees must sign a waiver when they check into the event. If you refuse to sign this waiver you will be asked to leave. No refund will be issued.

  • Expressing one’s personal beliefs in a way that is aggressive or threatening to any attendee will result in that individual being removed from the event and barred from returning, with no refund.

  • Participants exhibiting symptoms consistent with Covid-19 are asked to self determine a need for testing or self-isolating. Valid concerns brought before the PTN Board of visible symptoms presenting in any participant may be asked to seek testing and/or self-isolation.

  • Participants that have known exposure or a positive covid-19 test within 10 days days of the event must self determine their attendance using the CDC calculator.

  • PTN reserves the right to refuse entry or a continued participation to anyone that fails or refuses to follow our policies

We will adjust and reconsider each point as we get closer to IPTW. These policies and protocols will not be negotiable. We are relying on the honor of each attendee to follow the protocols in place, and we ask that every individual recognizes the purpose and goals behind them. To that end, we must preserve the legacy of PTN- our people.
