Bio
Joe Tokarsky is the Owner and Lead Preservation Contractor of Compass Preservation, bringing over 25 years of learning and applying traditional craft practices and a deep commitment to historic preservation trades education. Combining hands-on expertise with formal education—including an AAS in Building Preservation/Restoration—Joe bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern preservation standards. As an active member of the Preservation Trades Network (PTN), he is dedicated to lifelong learning, frequently attending and giving workshops to share specialized knowledge. Compass Preservation provides services in the comprehensive restoration and preservation of buildings through traditional craft methods, specializing in historic window restoration and architectural replication. Joe focuses his work on empowering building owners and local communities by providing the knowledge and cost-effective, phased solutions necessary to be confident stewards of their historic buildings.
