Far east end of Louisiana Avenue
Back entrance to Pegasus Riding Academy

Re:Purpose Savannah is a former lumber yard situated in a residential area. We want to limit street parking as much as possible to mitigate the traffic congestion in the neighborhood and any access problems for residents to get in and out of their homes. It has caused problems in the past at this venue and we want to be neighborly.

Due to this, we obtained off-site parking nearby at The Old Dairy Farm, and specifically, Pegasus Riding Academy. This is a non-profit therapeutic horseback riding academy that provides equine assisted activities for individuals in Savannah with physical, mental or emotional disabilities. I have been volunteering with them for years, and they kindly opened up the pasture for IPTW attendees to park on Thursday and Friday. That being stated, it is an active horse stable that comes with some important guidelines:

  • You are welcome to say hello to the horses in their stalls but please do not feed the horses.
  • It is an active pasture with horses with active digestive systems. Watch where you step.
  • Fire ants love the pasture. Watch where you step.
  • Please help make sure that the access gate is shut and dummy locked in the event horses escape from their stalls (not frequent but not uncommon).
