Bio
Ever since I can remember I've been surrounded by old buildings and important places. Growing up amongst the peanut farms of rural southside Virginia, and later in the revolutionary capitol of Williamsburg, I completed my history education while attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. After college I returned to Colonial Williamsburg where I spent more than twenty years, eventually becoming the first to hold the title of "Master of Masonry Trades". I presented and demonstrated the traditions of pre-1800 brick, mortar, and plasterwork of the Chesapeake region in Virginia and Maryland. In 2018, I joined HistoriCorps as a preservation project manager, and later, in 2022 assumed the role of Executive Director. These days, in addition to preservation, and as a call back to my roots, our family calls our small farm in New Kent, Virginia home.
